East Frisian tea is a protected brand. Only tea made in East Frisia can be called East Frisian Tea.

About 120 years ago, East Frisian tea drinkers made the switch from Chinese green tea to Indian black tea. "Made" here refers to the skill of selecting the best leaves from tea gardens in Assam, Darjeeling and Ceylon and blending them to achieve a specific taste.

After we select a winner from the tea cupping session, we will enjoy some scones and sweets with a full East Frisian style tea service with cream and a kind of rock sugar called Kluntje.
