2023 Bánh Bạch Trà Rừng Hoàng Liên Sơn
Harvest Location: Hoàng Liên Sơn, Bản Bo, Lầu Chải Việt Nam
Cultivar: Shan Tuyet Ancient Trees
Elevation: 2150m
Harvest: 2023
Produced from ancient Shan Tuyết tea trees growing in the remote mountains of Hoàng Liên Sơn, Bản Bo, Lầu Chải, this distinctive pressed white tea is crafted from a traditional Shou Mei leaf grade that produces a richer, fuller-bodied expression than bud-heavy white teas.
Harvested at an elevation of 2,150 meters, these wild tea trees thrive in cool mountain forests where persistent mists, mineral-rich soils, and a pristine environment contribute exceptional depth and character.
This cake offers aromas of damp cedar, forest floor, aged wood, dried dates, and earthy sweetness. Once infused, the liquor brews a deep amber with a rich, silky body. The cup reveals comforting notes of old timber, leather, autumn leaves, dark honey, jujube, dried fig, and gentle medicinal herbs, balanced by the characteristic sweetness of Shan Tuyết. A subtle mineral character and lingering camphor-like cooling sensation emerge in later infusions, creating a complex and deeply satisfying finish.
The mature Shou Mei leaf material provides remarkable depth, producing a tea that is both approachable and capable of evolving further with continued proper storage.
