Jun Shan Yin Zhen is one of China’s Top Ten Famous Teas and a rare example of true yellow tea, crafted exclusively on Junshan Island in Dongting Lake, Hunan. Unlike white tea Silver Needle, it undergoes the traditional “piling yellow” (Meng Huang) process developed by monks centuries ago — a slow oxidation that gives the leaves their signature brownish yellow-green color and a smooth, sugar-like flavor.
 
Its sweet, mellow taste reflects the hallmark maturity of yellow tea, with a soft richness that sets it apart from green or white teas.
 
Be cautious of look-alike versions — real Jun Shan Yin Zhen has subtle golden tones, not just silvery white.
